The National Fish Habitat Board will meet in Arlington, Virginia starting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 and concluding at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14. The meeting will be held at The Nature Conservancy at 4245 North Fairfax Drive – Suite 100, Arlington, VA.

. The May 13 meeting will begin with updates on a number of ongoing Board activities and review of supplemental application materials from the Southwest Alaska Fish Habitat Partnership. The Board will also discuss with representatives of recognized Fish Habitat Partnerships (FHP) a number of issues related to the formation and operation of FHPs in the future. On the morning of May 14 the Board will take action on a series of recommendations developed to address issues related to FHPs. The afternoon session will include a Science and Data Committee report to the Board, as well as a briefing of the Science and Monitoring Needs workshop and proposed USGS Research Plan. A Communications Committee Report will also be presented to the Board and discussed. The final day of the meeting will conclude with discussion of the pending October 2008 Meeting, as well as the election of a new Board Chairperson because John Cooper (Board Chair) is retiring after two years of dedicated service leading the Board.
